Congratulations to the winners of our DATA Book Report Competition!
It was wonderful to see our students showcase their reading and writing skills through their book reports. Reading and writing are important skills that grow stronger with practice, both in and out of school.
As summer approaches, we encourage all of our students to keep reading, writing, and exploring new stories. A few minutes each day can make a big difference!

Today's guest reader is Ms.Melanie, bringing a book she read on repeat to her own children. Thank you Ms.Melanie for pulling on our heart strings and helping us realize all the feelings books can make us feel.

DeTour Arts and Technology Academy is celebrating reading month with the theme, "Camp Out with a Good Book". We would like to thank the PVG for helping to make this month a success. You can help at home by ensuring your child is reading or being read to 20 minutes every night.

Friday 6 February 2026, Due to a high number of student illnesses and absences today, we will be closing school tomorrow to help prevent further spread and to allow students time to recover. For the 11th day of Christmas, Ms. G's 4/5 class constructed snowflakes! Each group used skewers, marshmallows, and straws to see who could make the biggest snowflake in 20 minutes. The snowflake designs were required to have 6 arms and be symmetrical. The kids did an excellent job! ❄️
